Travis and I have always wanted to drive around Utah Lake. It's huge, and takes forever. We have started out on this journey a couple of times, but always had to give up and rush home for something. So yesterday was such a nice afternoon, that after church Travis asked me if I wanted to go for a drive. So we packed a picnic lunch and went for a drive.
We got about 1/2 way across the lake a found a really nice gravel dirt It even had a stop sign at the end of it, so we decided a little detour would be fun. So we took of of the main road somewhere in the circled area. It was a beautiful drive, we found a beautiful valley, and some mines, and it was really fun! The mines we found were mining a purple rock. I've never seen such a bright purple!
Needless to say, we were somewhat lost. That road we took wasn't exactly marked well on the map. But we found an access road that was used to bring in and put up some power lines. And we finally made it out of the hills, and found our way back to the main road. It was a wonderful enjoyable trip around the lake! We think we took about this kind of trail, but we really have no idea.

Learning!!!
A really good friend of mine who is 3 months pregnant, comment that I sure knew what I was doing, and I was such a good mom, and she was worried about how to be a good mom to her little one.
I told her I didn't know what I was doing, and it just takes time and practice, and don't worry about the mistakes. She didn't seem to believe me when I said I didn't know what I was doing!
Two days later, she stopped by our house to drop off some cookies. Travis and I had been cleaning house, and I hadn't realized how late it was, so when Teagan wanted to go to sleep, I put him in his crib for a nap. Well, it was 9:00 at night, and he hadn't been fed yet. So rather than be awakened and have to feed him at 2:00 in the morning, I woke him up to feed him, and change him into his PJ's. Well, Teagan like most babies isn't the cleanest eater, and he had on the cutest outfit that I didn't want stained, so I figured I would just strip him down to his diaper. For some reason, he was freezing! I was hot because I had been cleaning house, and didn't think that it was cold at all. But I stripped Teagan down and put him in his high chair. He was so cold he started shivering!! I felt so bad, I went and got a blanket and covered him up the best I could, but he just kept shivering with his little chin quiver and everything!! Travis and my friend just laughed. Travis ended up holding the little space heater while Teagan ate. I put him in the warmest pj's he has, and he went right back to sleep.
Just goes to show, No mother is perfect, and every child will suffer while mom tries to figure everything out! It's just a good thing they are too little to remember it.

Growing up so Fast!!!
It was a Sorry Date Night!!!
Travis and I had a really fun date night last week!! We put Teagan to bed, and we made sugar cookies and while they cooked and then cooled, we played the game "Sorry" It was a blast!!! The first game was really funny, because we were super nice, and I don't think anyone got bumped back to start, (for those who haven't played sorry in a while, that's the point) So on our second game, we decided to play: "No more Mr./Mrs. nice guy/gal" This was so fun!! I have to say that Travis won 3 out of 3 games, (I was very humbled after I had told him how I ALWAYS used to beat Dad at this game, I'm beginning to think that Dad let me win!) Don't worry, I have challenged him to a rematch so I can redeem myself!
After our cookies cooled we frosted them. Sadly enough, the heart shaped cookies spread a little during the cooking, and most of them ended up looking a little distorted (use your imagination!!) It was a very fun date!!!
Ode to Peixe (formally known as Fred)
***Ode To Peixe***
About a month ago, we bought Travis a little fish, whom after much thought and consideration was officially named Peixe. (In Portuguese this means "Fish")
It is with great sadness that we announce, that Peixe passed quietly from this life earlier this week. Peixe will be greatly missed by his surviving family and friends. He was a confident fish, and an inspiration. He was a companion and a friend to all who bothered to look into his fish bowl. We are sad to lose Peixe after a brief eating disorder that took his life. Yes, we are sorry to say that in the later days of his life, Peixe became anorexic, and finally succumbed to this horrible illness. Peixe, you will be missed more than you will ever know, and we hope that you are happy in that big ocean in the sky.
Please, we ask that you take a moment of silence to honor our beloved friend.
