It's this time of year that I remember why I love Texas so much! Teagan, Heidi and I walked the half a block to get the mail yesterday, and Teagan and Heidi picked me 4 different kinds of wild flowers. They are everywhere and so pretty!
Teagan is so long that we decided he was to big for his Toddler bed. So he got a "big-big-big boy bed" He loves it and it makes him feel so big. I don't know if I'm ready for him to be this big.
Teagan and Heidi have fun playing in his room. She wants so bad to get up on his bed, but she just isn't big enough, and that frustrates her.
But Heidi is getting bigger and bigger. She loves to be tickled, and sometimes sits and tickles her own tummy if she wants to laugh and no one is tickling her. She is a cutie with her big blue eyes!

Family Update!!
Spring is in the Air!
I love spring! It's one of my favorite times of year! The kids and I started decorating for Easter/spring. Unfortunately, and fortunately, we don't have much in the way of Easter decorations, so Teagan and I started to make some! We painted some easter shapes. First we cut out the shapes. I just traced Cookie Cutters and then taped them into a shoe box lid.
Then we rolled a marble in paint and dropped it in the box, and shook it around.
Teagan loved it and he got to do it all by himself, and it turned out really cute!
Heidi had fun playing with the cookie cutters, and singing to us while we worked!

We made the front page!!
~ First of all, Boerne has a newspaper. (www.boernestar.com)
~ Secondly, we ended up on the first page this week. (yes it is only a bi-weekly paper) Travis is wearing his scout shirt (his troop did the opening flag ceremony) and the white cowboy hat, and I'm wearing a white bandanna in my hair (It was a bad hair day!) and holding Heidi. Teagan is... in there somewhere.
We had a lot of fun. We attended a fun Outdoor Family Fair. Most of the businesses in the area come together to put on the fair. Each booth has a game or a treat for kids, and then as parents we get information on the different businesses in the area. There were jumping castles, and mini-gymnastic center set up. It was really fun. One of the coolest thing, we got to pet a HUGE porcupine, a ring-tailed monkey, donkey, llama, and a big snake. (there is a picture of the Porcupine on the website if you want to see it.)
Back to the paper. Small town papers like to print what is happening in the police world. and Travis and I have to admit that we got a kick out of. Let me show you what crime is like in our area. Here is "A Day In The Life Of Kendall County Sheriff Department"

9:21 am - A caller reported hitting a deer the night before
11:07 am - A subject wanted on a warrant surrendered at the jail
11:31 am - A caller said he saw someone intentionally run over two deer, then go to the creek and run over a duck.
11:34 am - No one was hurt when a dump truck and a cement mixer collided
11:49 am - A called reported finding a deer blind and feeder set up on her property
11:50 am - Animal control officers found two dead deer and a dead duck on a bridge
4:41 pm - Trespassing was reported
5:46 pm - Cattle were reported taken
5:48 pm - A suspicious person was reported
9:41 pm - A caller reported a car hit and killed a deer
Some of the things that were reported were pretty funny! Don't worry we don't live in a high crime area. Boerne is the best town in the World to live in!

Pillow Tag
I have a nice treadmill. I never use it. Basically I just get bored when I run on it, so I don't do it very often. (I think I've used it three times this year. So much for my New Years Resolution!!) However, my two children help me to keep in shape even without the treadmill.
This morning, we decided to play pillow tag. I learned several things doing this.
1. I need to use my treadmill more, because I am really out of shape.
2. We have WAY to many pillows in our house.
3. Teagan cheats and makes up his own rules, so don't count on any rules when playing with him. (Maybe that's how he always wins in Candy Land)
So how do you play? Do you just run around and hit each other with pillows? No. The pillows are the bases. I just tossed all our pillows down the stairs and then we to stay on the pillows and chase each other. Touching the floor is a big "No-No" (Or so I thought at the beginning. Teagan kinda went from jumping on the pillows to running around them. Hey kid, whatever floats your boat.) We had a lot of fun! Heidi is just getting over pink eye, a cold and an ear infection, so after about one round of the living room, she just decided she should be a road block, so that pillow was out of bounds, until she picked another pillow to lay on. (Yes, I did have to wash all the pillow cases because she dripped green stuff on each and every pillow!!)
After we finished playing pillow tag, we did one of the things that I loved to do when I was growing up. We piled all the pillows up at the bottom of the stairs and jumped on it. Even Heidi got in on the action! (I'm amazed that they never landed on each other!)

Plans for the Future
As any mother, I often tell Teagan that he needs to eat his vegetables so he can grow up big and strong. After having that conversation at dinner last night, I think Teagan was pondering the whole growing up thing. This morning, Teagan was eating breakfast and he looked at me and said "Mommy, I won't grow up big like Daddy. I'll still be little." (All this said with a drop in his head, and shoulders drooping.
"Yes, Teagan you will. Someday you will be big, and you can go on a mission, and go to college, and you will get married and... (I was having a sentimental moment.)
"No Mom," he interrupted... "When Heidi can walk then we can get married, but she has to walk first."
My sweet boy thinks he will get to marry his cute little sister!! But I think she's in for a surprise. While they were taking their bath this morning, Teagan handed Heidi some toys and said. "Heidi, you make me some pancakes. I'm Hungry!!"

At church on Sunday the Primary Music leader came up and told me that Teagan had "said the cutest thing" in Primary. I never understood the terror that a parent feels at hearing those words, and I began to seek out the closest hole I could hide in, depending on what he had said. I guess the Bishop came in and was talking to the kids about how the scriptures speak to us. Teagan stood up and proudly held up his scriptures and said, "I have scriptures, but they don't speak to me!"
Poor kid probably thinks he got the short end of the stick. This parents just bought him plain old scriptures, and not the kind that talks to you!!

Project updates!
So we painted the bathroom downstairs a light blue and gave it a beach makeover, and refinished the little table above! 
Then Travis was wonderful and painted the railing and banister on the stairs. Everything that is brown was a white. So Thank you Travis, you did a great job!
A few weeks ago I posted that we had a ton of acorns and I was going to figure out something to do with them. So I made this wreath. It was just about done, (and I was going to add a little bow and maybe some color...) when I noticed that there were worms coming out of it. and all the acorns started to sprout. It's so LAME!! It was really cute too! In case you are wondering once I noticed the worms, I threw it on the back porch, which is where this picture was taken before we threw it away!!
